Aluminium alloy 7050 is an aerospace, heat treatable alloy. It has high mechanical strength, good stress corrosion cracking resistance and toughness at subzero temperatures. Aluminium 7050 is particularly suited for heavy plate applications such as fuselage frames, bulkheads, wing skins and aircraft structures.
Available in two tempers, T7451 and T7651, 7050 aluminium alloy has the electrical conductivity 40% of copper. Welding should be avoided with Aluminum 7050, as the process weakens the alloy. Aluminum 7050 alloy can be heat treated at 477°C (890°F) and cold worked using conventional methods. 7050 alloy is aged using two-stage heat treatment. It is heated at 122°C (250°F) for 3 to 6 h. It is again heated at 163°C (325°F) for 15 h followed by cooling in air. 7050 aluminium can be hardened by precipitation heat treatment.
Teknika4 supplies 7050 aluminium alloy in bar, plate and sheet. All of the Aluminium 7050 sold by Teknika4 meets strict industry standards like those from AMS, ASTM, QQ, and UNS.
