5454 aluminium alloy is an alloy in the wrought aluminium-magnesium family. It has very good corrosion resistance and combines moderate-to-high strength with excellent weldability. 5454 aluminium alloy features good cold working and hot working characteristics.
Alloy 5454 is widely used in the manufacture of pressure vessels, containers, boilers chemical storage tanks, automotive wheels, marine service, welded structures and those applications that may be subject to temperatures more than 150ºF. It is not suitable for complex or fine extrusions.
