2219 Aluminium Alloy

2219 Aluminium Alloy

2219 Aluminium is a precipitation/age hardening alloy which combines excellent strength and good machinability and mechanical properties. This copper-containing alloy features extreme toughness and excellent stress corrosion resistance in the T8 condition.

2219 alloy is useful over a temperature range of -452º to 600 ºF; therefore, it s typically used in a range of aerospace applications such as high temperature structural applications including space booster and fuel tanks.

2219 Aluminium alloy is  suitable  for many metalworking processes including machining, forming, heat treatment, cold working, and more. Hot working and welding adversely affect this alloy’s ability to resist corrosion. As a raw material, this material is available in shapes,  flat rolled products and forging products.
