3003 Aluminium Alloy

3003 Aluminium Alloy

3003 aluminium is an alloy in the wrought aluminium-manganese family wich features moderate strength and good workability, weldability, and  corrosion resistance.

This general-purpose alloy is commonly used in applications that require medium strength such as sheet metal work, ductwork, fuel tanks, chemical equipment, truck beds, skinning frames, garage doors, mail boxes, gutters, downspouts, roofing, tool boxes, gas tanks, fan blades, awning slats, siding and ornamental work.

3003 aluminium alloy can be cold worked to increase its strength. It is commonly rolled and extruded, but typically not forged. Aluminium 3003 alloy is hot worked at 260 to 510°C (500 to 950°F). As a wrought alloy, it is not used in casting, and it does not respond to heat treatment. 3003 alloy is annealed at 413°C (775°F).
